On February 29, 2004, the McSwain Studs U14
boys soccer team completed a successful season by
winning the CYSA District VIII Bill Meyer League
Tournament Championship game over the Turlock
Rockets, 4 - 0. Nine teams from Turlock, Modesto,
Ceres, Tracy, Stockton, Merced, Lodi, Manteca and
McSwain participated in the tournament.
The Bill Meyer League is a short season
following the normal recreation league. The best
players in their respective leagues are invited to
form one "all star" team per league.
The McSwain U14 Studs final season record of
26-1-1 included an undefeated recreation league
season, advancing to the quarter finals in the
CYSA Tide America Cup state tournament, and being
undefeated throughout the Bill Meyer League games
and the tournament.
"We've had a lot of fun these past eight
years and I'm looking forward to watching them
play in high school", said head coach Tim
Durham. "I also must give credit to my
assistant coaches, Filiberto Rodriguez and Alberto
Flores. Their help was priceless."
